Our Medical Director is Dr. Scott Simmons. In addition to seeing to the medical needs of our Residents, Dr. Simmons also provides professional guidance for our organization. All program directives from each department must be approved and signed off on by the Medical Director.
Having graduated from Louisiana State University Medical Center- Shreveport in 1997, Dr. Simmons has exclusively committed his practice to geriatric care. His office is at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, however, he does not see our Residents at the hospital. He comes to Pleasant Valley Living Center to treat Residents in house. Residents do not have to endure the stress of a traditional doctor’s visit and are more likely to share any issues with the doctor when he is in their environment.

Riesa comes to the facility on Tuesdays and Thursdays to check Residents and note any conditions that need to be brought to Dr. Simmons attention. She is dedicated to the care of our Residents and has a wonderful working relationship with our staff. The Residents find her easy to talk to and she takes time to really listen to them. She has had her masters in nursing for over 12 years and also specializes in geriatric care.
Dr. Simmons and Riesa are both available 24/7 on -call through the Nurse’s Station.
